Tooth loss can occur for various reasons such as periodontal disease, decay, or trauma. At Navasota Dental, we offer dentures as a suitable solution for replacing missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Dentures are removable dental appliances available in two types: complete and partial. Complete dentures are used when all teeth in an arch are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.

Complete Dentures: Used when all teeth are missing. These can be conventional (made after gum tissue heals, about 4-6 weeks) or immediate (made in advance and placed immediately after tooth extraction).
Partial Dentures: Used when some natural teeth remain, filling the gaps created by missing teeth and preventing remaining teeth from shifting.
Dentures are durable and can last many years, though they may need repair or adjustment due to normal wear.
The denture process involves several appointments over a few weeks. Accurate impressions and measurements are taken to create your custom denture. Several “try-in” appointments may be necessary to ensure proper fit and appearance. At the final appointment, the dentures are adjusted and placed for a comfortable, natural fit.
It’s normal to experience increased saliva, soreness, and some speech or chewing difficulties initially. These issues will subside as your tissues adjust to the new dentures.
You’ll receive care instructions to ensure the longevity of your dentures. Regular cleaning and dental visits will help maintain your new smile.
